Where to go for the Best Lobster in Sarasota

There’s something about being around the beach that brings out an appetite for seafood, and the seafood of choice for many is a good lobster.  While many places in Sarasota serve great seafood, we can narrow that list down to the ones that serve a lobster that is to die for.  Here, we’ll show you where to go for the best lobster in Sarasota.

Dry Dock Waterfront Grill

Dry Dock has won OpenTable Awards in 2019 and 2020 and is recognized as one of the 100 Best Al Fresco Restaurants in America and one of the 100 Best Most Scenic Restaurants in America.  It is waterfront dining at its best and it offers Maine lobster tails that people rave about.  They also serve delicious salads, pasta, and, of course, all types of seafood and steaks.

With a name like Lobster Pot, you hope they would make our list and they do.  It is a small, quaint restaurant with great service and lots of experience preparing lobster.  Choose from whole Maine lobster, Maine lobster tails, lobster rolls, baked stuffed lobster Dutchness, and lazy Dutchness.  They also offer a variety of seafood dinners as well.

Michael’s on East has been a fine dining staple in Sarasota since 1987, offering award-winning cuisine and outstanding service in a 1940s supper club atmosphere.  They could have made a number of restaurant lists, but they are here because of their Lobster Pot Fridays.  This special is available every Friday where you can enjoy two 1-1/4 lb. live Maine lobsters, mussels, clams, new potatoes, and corn on the cob.  They will even supply you with a signature bib to wear.

Speaks Clam Bar at St. Armands

29 N Boulevard of Presidents, St. Armands Circle, Sarasota 34236

(941) 232-7633

https://speaksclambar.com/

Inspired by the Italian clam bars in New York City, Speaks continues the tradition in the fun-loving spirit of the speakeasy.  Don’t let the name fool you, it is much more than just a clam bar.  As for the lobster, you can choose from lobster bisque, a buttered lobster roll (hot), or a Maine lobster roll (cold), as well as lobster & shrimp lasagna.  They also offer plenty of soups, chowders, seafood baskets, Italian pasta, and seafood dinners.

Connors Steak & Seafood

3501 South Tamiami Trail, Ste. 1165, Sarasota 34239

(941) 260-3232

Connors is well known for its steaks and many locals also rave about its seafood menu.  Their food is grilled over mesquite wood grills to bring out the exceptional flavor.  Their cold water lobster tail (single or twin) with grilled asparagus is one of the best lobster servings in town.

Seasons 52

170 University Town Center Dr., Suite 103, Sarasota 34243

(941) 702-9652

https://www.seasons52.com/locations/fl/sarasota/sarasota/4540

At Seasons 52, they oak-fire grill and brick oven roast all their dishes for full flavor.  In fact, you won’t find a fryer here.  They are known for their seasonal favorites like wild Alaskan salmon in the summer and Florida stone crabs in the winter.  One of their best specialties is the filet mignon and Maine lobster tail plate served with roasted asparagus and marble potatoes.

Enjoying lobster at a fine seafood restaurant is a real treat and these restaurants know how to serve up this delectable shellfish to everyone’s satisfaction.  Also, don’t feel guilty about eating lobster.  It is a great source of protein, providing 28 grams per cup.  Lobsters are also a great source of heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids.  So slip on a lobster bib and get crackin’!
