Things to be Thankful for in Sarasota

Because of the Thanksgiving holiday, November is a month when many of us give extra gratitude for the blessings in our life.   Sarasota is a great city and the Greater Sarasota area has many things to be thankful for.  In this article, we thought we’d highlight some of the wonderful things to be thankful for in Sarasota that we, and its yearly tourists, appreciate the most.

Siesta Key Beaches

There are very few tourists that come to Siesta Key that doesn’t fall in love with these incredible white, sandy beaches.  In fact, many tourists come to Siesta Key and never leave the island until it’s time to go home – mainly because the beaches are so peaceful and relaxing.  For more info, please read Exploring the Beaches of Siesta Key and Useful Tips to Get the Most Out of Your Day at the Beach.

Endless Day Tip Options

If you have kids (and even if you don’t), theme parks are a must to at least consider.  The great thing is that most theme parks are just a couple of hours from Sarasota by car, meaning that it is possible to visit a theme park and drive back on the same day.  There are other day trips that are worth checking out as well.  Please read Great Day Trips from Siesta Key and Romantic One-Day Trips from Siesta Key.

The Ringling Museum of Art

Not only is the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art the official state art museum of Florida, but TripAdvisor also ranks it as one of the top 25 museums in the U.S. of over 35,000 active museums and one of the top six museums in the U.S. for visitor experience.  If you have never visited The Ringling, it is something you really need to do.  Please read Guide to the Ringling Museum of Art for more info.

Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium

The Mote Aquarium is a great attraction that the entire family will love, but we are equally thankful for the Marine Laboratory.  The lab is an independent and nonprofit organization founded in 1955, dedicated to groundbreaking ocean work with more than 20 diverse research programs focusing on today’s challenges and identifying and addressing future impacts.

Family Fun

One of the great things about Sarasota is that there is so much for families to do.  From parks to museums to a big cat habitat, Sarasota has an endless variety of wholesome, family-oriented attractions and entertainment that’s available for parents and grandparents to provide for the little ones.  Please read Best Places for Family Fun in Sarasota.

The People

Everywhere you go, southern hospitality is on display in Sarasota.  We love living here and we love welcoming guests to our little piece of paradise.  The weather is warm and so are the hearts of the people that call Sarasota home.  It’s in our blood.  How can we not be happy here when we have such great weather, amazing beaches, and all of the wonderful things to see and do around us?

Our Guests

And lastly, we are thankful for the guests that come down here to visit us.  You help drive our economy, provide jobs for our service industry, and put smiles on our faces by choosing our area to spend time in.  We know that you have many choices about where you can vacation, and we are very, very thankful that you chose Sarasota.  We appreciate each and every one of you!

November is a time to give extra thanks, and we have so much to be grateful for.  We hope by practicing extra gratitude in November, it becomes a habit that lasts throughout the year.
