Because of the Thanksgiving holiday, November is a month when many of us give extra gratitude for the blessings in our life. Sarasota is a great city and the Greater Sarasota area has many things to be thankful for. There are very few tourists that come to Siesta Key that doesn’t fall in love with these incredible white, sandy beaches. In fact, many tourists come to Siesta Key and never leave the island until it’s time to go home – mainly because the beaches are so peaceful and relaxing. If you have kids (and even if you don’t), theme parks are a must to at least consider. The great thing is that most theme parks are just a couple of hours from Sarasota by car, meaning that it is possible to visit a theme park and drive back on the same day. Not only is the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art the official state art museum of Florida, but TripAdvisor also ranks it as one of the top 25 museums in the U.S. of over 35,000 active museums and one of the top six museums in the U.S. for visitor experience. The Mote Aquarium is a great attraction that the entire family will love, but we are equally thankful for the Marine Laboratory. The lab is an independent and nonprofit organization founded in 1955, dedicated to groundbreaking ocean work with more than 20 diverse research programs focusing on today’s challenges and identifying and addressing future impacts.

One of the great things about Sarasota is that there is so much for families to do.
