Florida Fresh Produce

Florida is known for producing some of the world's most flavorful oranges. It's also a state where a variety of farms grow a wide variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, and other produce. Here in Sarasota and the surrounding area, you can pick fresh fruits, choose many different vegetables, or purchase Amish-made products. If you'd like to visit some of these farms and enjoy the taste of fresh Florida produce, these options are for you.

Honeyside Farms

The mission of Honeyside Farms is to provide fresh, local produce to the community. Honeyside Farms grows fruits and vegetables, however, they are most famous for their strawberries which are available from December to April. This farm sells its produce at the Sarasota Downtown Farmers Market (Nov. - May) on Saturdays and at the Phillippi Farmhouse Market (Nov. - May) on Wednesdays.

Fruitville Grove

7410 Fruitville Rd. Sarasota, Florida 34240
Fruitville Grove serves a variety of non-certified organic fresh produce and Amish-made goods: cheeses, jams and more. Their fruit and vegetables are handpicked daily. The market is open seven days a week, Monday through Saturday from 9 am to 6 pm and Sunday, from 10 am to 4 pm.

Nokomis Groves

111 S Albee Farm Rd. Nokomis Florida 34275
Nokomis Groves is closed from the end of March to November. However, during the season, their retail store is open 6 days a week with fresh citrus from their locally owned groves, orange and grapefruit juice, produce and jellies, local honey, candy, sauces, and souvenirs from the gift shop, milk, eggs, cheeses, and key lime pies. The ice cream store is open year-round. Nokomis Groves is known for their citrus ice cream flavors - lime and chocolate, pineapple and orange, and most famously - orange and vanilla swirl. Store hours are Monday through Saturday 8 am to 5:30 pm.
